The First International Conference of The Society in Conjunction With the African Society of Human Genetics Was Held in November 2007 in Cairo

The Fifth African Conference on Human Genetics  was attended by many important figures who made the history of human genetics in the world, including Prof. Dr. Samia Ali-Temtami, Prof. Dr. Francis Collins who announced the completion of the Human Genome 2002, Professor  Charles Rotimi is Founder of the African Society of Human Genetics and is now Head of Genome Research at the NIH in USA.

Glycosylation (CGD) in the Middle East (2024)

GlycoEgypt is an initiative was founded under the umbrella of the National Society of Human Genetics (NSHG) in Egypt.
GlycoEgypt initiative has been founded to increase the awareness with a large class (> 270 type) of genetic disorders known as Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (CDG). The initiative’s main goal is to help the families with children with CDG in Egypt to find the support through providing the most up-to-date diagnostic services as well as the psychological support to the parents.
